Here is a collection of A/B/C results from tests that I've run on my channel. Currently, A/B/C Testing is only available for a select few creators, but it will eventually be a feature for everyone.
  • This test is completely automated and has a period of 14 days to find a winner however usually it finds the best thumbnail quicker than that. It uses watch time as the indicator of which thumbnail performs the best.
  • Watch time is the most important metric so this test is finding which thumbnail brings in the right viewers who are watching your content and then sets it as the winner.
  • Once the winner is found the test is automatically finished and the thumbnail is set.
  • You can re-run the test as many times as you want with the same thumbnails or with different thumbnails
How to run an A/B/C test
You have two options for running an A/B/C test. You can start it while uploading a video or do it after the video is already live. Look for the option "Test and Compare." Once selected, you will see three boxes where you can upload thumbnails. Note that you don't have to use all three boxes if you only want to compare two thumbnails.
